Meet HOWARD PAUCHNIK

Howard Pauchnik is a retired educator and coach whose career was defined by consistency, structure, and a long-standing commitment to student development. Born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia, he graduated from Brooke High School in 1976 before earning a bachelor’s degree in education from Fairmont State College in 1981. While in college, he competed on the track team as a hurdler, an experience that reinforced discipline, preparation, and focus—qualities that later shaped his professional life. Howard spent his career teaching history and coaching athletics at several high schools, including Steubenville Central High School, Mount St. Mary’s High School in Oklahoma City, and Putnam West High School. Across classrooms and athletic programs, his approach emphasized accountability, teamwork, and steady effort. In retirement, he remains active through golf, a lifelong interest that began in college and led him to compete in amateur tournaments across multiple states.
